Stuart,

Tony Magri (Antonio) here. I saw your photo in the NHS Yearbook of 1969. Obviously you look familiar. Not sure we ever had a class together. I was suddened to hear of your passing. May you rest in peace. Deepest condolences to your family.

I'm very sorry to read about the passing of my former friend from Glenhaven Elementary and Sligo Junior High School.  Even though I didn't attend Northwood with Stuart because my family had moved, I've never forgotten him.  In fact, the first thing I did subsequent to being graciously invited to attend the NHS Class of 1970 50-year Runion in 2022 was to attempt to get hold of Stuart to encourage him to attend.  I still regret not being able to reach him.  We sat next to each other many times in elementary school, and Stuart would entertain me by doodling pictures of fictional characters he had created, including "Smedley," "Smedley Jumbo," "Shopping Cart Snooter," and others.  The fact that I still remember these 60 years later is testament to my fondness for Stuart.  Our 6th grade teacher, Mrs. Domanski, for whatever reason used to call her students by their last names, and used to call Stuart, "Emet," not "Emden."  I  even attended his birthday parties as a child.  I also have fond memories of 7th grade at Sligo Junior High when Stuart and I were in Mr. Levine's Gym class together.  We both received an "A" from Mr. Levine on our first report card because Stuart and I, alternating between playing quarterback and wide receiver, were a non-stoppable combination that Fall in class.  Our paths crossed again years later when my softball team played his team in a double-header on a recreation center field on University Blvd. in Wheaton.  I have wonderful memories of Stuart, and send my most sincere condolences to his family and loved ones.

When I was 17, Stuart and I went to the Atlantic City pop Festival in my car . We spent three days at the festival sleeping in the car at night, music-all daylong. The festival was held August 1-3, 1969 and a lot of the people that were at Woodstock were first at Atlantic City, Janis Joplin, Grateful Dead, Jefferson Airplane, Crosby, Stills and Nash,  Santana, and more. It was an amazing experience.

I lived with Stuart for over 3 years near the University of Maryland. They were crazy and wild times. There was Kung Fu night every Thursday. Thursday night was the early start another wild weekend. I was sleeping one night when Stuart and Ricky poured baby powder into a big fan in my room and cover the whole room with baby powder while I was sleeping. I woke up, the whole room was covered in white powder. I thought I went to heaven.

Stuart was a good friend during High School and College. Unfortunately, we lost contact later on. He had a great sense of humor and loved doing practical jokes. It’s very hard to believe that we are all this old and that he is gone now. Rest in Peace!

Stuart was one of the funniest guys a knew. We became friends while a Sligo Jr. High where he'd call me Smedly (I think he called everyone he liked Smedly). At Northwood we shared many great times together; Friday night poker, cutting school and cruising around, and just hanging out with a group of guys listening to music and general mischief that often included Craig "Pig" Levine, Stan Hochberg, Gary Goon, and others. Like with so many other HS friends, we went our seperate ways and never reconnected. Such a shame because he was such a great friend and person. Condolences to his family. Know that Stuart was a great friend to many.

Stuart had a great sense of humor, tons of laughs together, a exceptional person to be with!

I have vague memories of a wild Ocean City trip with him and others....

I also remember his lime green Mustang Mach 1.

Condolences to his family. Rest in peace Stuart, you are missed!
